Beer Review

The Big Bad Baptist is no small town preacher. He’s going to make you contemplate your life. How did you go this long without drinking such a great brew? What are you going to do if it ever gets pulled? Should I dump my girlfriend if she doesn’t like it also? Is this the one beer that baptists are actually allowed to drink?

If you are a fan of stout then you’re going to love this beer. It’s strong but also smooth and sweet. The aroma is malty and bourbon filled. The finish is sweet and chocolatey. The carbonation is on point. The sweet to bitter ratio is about perfect.

Aroma: Roasted barely and solid bourbon barrel. It starts out malty and ends with bourbon.

Taste: The taste is similar to an imperial stout but sweeter and stronger. It’s sweet like a milk stout but without the weird lactose after-taste.

Texture: The texture is rich and thick. It’s like an oatmeal stout. It’s almost chewy and leaves sugar on the lips. The head is thick and sticks to the glass.

Finish: The finish is sweet and bourbon barrel filled. You can feel the sugar sticking on the lips.

Comparisons: This is obviously similar to the Baptista. However, it’s not terribly far from your average high quality imperial stout but with a sweet twist.
